These are just a few shows from what proved to be a spectacular fashion week in Milan.

Some of the main trends:

  • Boho-gypsy – maxi skirts with deep slits;
  • Sailor girl, high time to earn your stripes;
  • Short tops, time to work on that fab abs;
  • Prints – clashing, matching, doesn’t matter, just print away;
  • Wear white, a lot or often if not daily.

Ciao, Milan – next stop Paris.

Plagued by leopard print

Here are my Friday’s leopard print nightmares in five steps:

Step one:
You decide to meet up with a friend after work.
Step two:
You go to a cosy looking pub and order your favourite drinks and snacks.
Step three:
You notice that while you indulge in a pleasant and much needed conversation with your friend, feeling comfy in oversized casual clothes, the pub rapidly changes its scene. A 360 degree flip, in fact.
Step four:
The horror starts here: girls in polyester leopard print dresses make a grand entrance. You count yourself lucky if their asses are at least half covered.
Step five:
You run away hating leopard print and polyester dresses – not necessarily combined, one at a time is fine.

And that is how, my friends, I have grown to despise leopard print. Be it on underaged girls, dresses, trousers, shoes, bags, accessories, you name it.

In fact, I struggle to picture myself wearing the ferocious pattern and looking decent at the same time.

However, Dolce& Gabbana and Blumarine may be changing my opinion a slight bit.

Blumarine

Thanks to these fashion houses, there is hope, however meager, for me to try it on one day.

Final words:

Leo-print is good for: 70s style kaftans, tribal-ethnic and chiffon evening looks.

Leo-print is the plague when combined with: ass-showy,too much make up, polyester looks.

Regardless of the print. Just say no to the latter – like you would do to drugs, kids!
