Sea queens or sequins

Edita wearing sequins and silver jewellery

This is the last outfit from the Which is Which and Who is Who saga. The other two were 70s and 1902, just in case you missed them. Very numerical, I know.

Edita in ASOS top, Polo Ralph Lauren black jeans

Before outrageously dancing the night away, I was fortunate enough to bump into Jamike who is this fine blogger‘s boyfriend. He also happens to be a photographer. There was no going back at that point and the pictures above are fruits of our combined labour (aka me being a total poser and him being nice about it).

I wore a sequin ASOS top, black Polo by Ralph Lauren jeans, ye olde faithful Jasper Conran clutch, silver earrings that the boyf has gotten me from Alexandria, a silver armour ring and patent leather shoes that I snatched from my mum’s wardrobe and declared mine.

Birthday month over. Excuse me while I hibernate until next year.

Chanel keeps it classic but inserts some breezy seductiveness into its collection.

On the loose: Chloe makes sure its collection is full of maxi skirts and summery shorts. Very ready-to-wear indeed.

Louis Vuitton RTW Spring Summer 2011

We all should be dolls on a carousel, according to Louis Vuitton. I am in, I love merry-go-rounds. This time Jacobs has put more emphasis on the clothing rather than accessories and designed every girl’s dream wardrobe. Thank you, Marc.

McQueen RTW Spring Summer 2011

Jaw-dropping beauty at McQueen. A mix of innocence, fetish and fantasy.

MiuMiu RTW Spring Summer 2011

Deconstructed coats and boleros accompanied by vampiresque make up at MiuMiu – very sultry yet wearable.

Valentino RTW Spring Summer 2011

Gardens of Eden at Valentino. Grandma’s dresses get closer to couture complemented by lace and crafty floral embroidery.

YSL RTW Spring Summer 2011

YSL RTW Spring Summer 2011

The lady is a vamp, she’s a vixen, not a tramp at YSL. The make up goes deep into the night injecting darker colours into the clothing as well. A lot of leg showing too.

According to what Paris had to show, we all will be wearing:

  • As previously reported, maxi skirts with slits still lead the pack;
  • Flowers. Fields and gardens even. On your clothes that is;
  • Colour blocking – not necessarily restrickted to clothes solely. YSL contrasts deep red lips with a night sky blue dress;
  • Creativity. Paris Fashion Week is there to inspire rather dictate trends.

Don’t forget to check Milan, London and New York Fashion Week trends, as reported up by pret-a-reporter.

The Fashion Month has now officially come to an end. Until next time, that is.

Grandma once told me

My grandma told me once: “ya gotts to show your legs off while you’re young.”

Afterwards she bought a pair of the most seductive stockings I’ve ever had.

Of course I tore them the same day and forgot all about it – but what I will always remember is the mantra she taught me, never waste an opportunity to parade those pins.

My gran has been quite the style queen back in the day and still is, for her age. Which brings me to a website I stumbled upon quite randomly which is a blog called Advanced Style.

This site is just like the Sartorialist but focused solely on mature and stylish people.

And if anything, there is a lot to learn from them fashion-wise. In fact, this is exactly how I want to look when I grow up.

70s

Edita in Henry Holland, ASOS and New Look

Ah, the 70s – the times of Halston, Annie Hall and glowing disco balls. Last weekend was THE opportunity to embrace the decade.

I did so by wearing a Henry Holland dress, ASOS gladiator sandals, a New Look small messenger bag and a Failsworth floppy hat.

It was the perfect way to wave goodbye to the Indian Summer London is now leaving behind.
